Set in the heart of Madeira, this canyon is surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes in the legendary Nun’s Valley (Curral das Freiras). This historic location is where the nuns from the Santa Clara Convent once sought refuge during a pirate attack on Funchal in 1566.
After pick-up, we head into the mountains. A scenic 20-minute walk along a dirt trail and a traditional levada brings us to the start of our canyoning journey.
The route features multiple rappels, with the tallest reaching 15 meters, along with natural pools perfect for jumping or sliding into. Throughout the adventure, you’ll be immersed in breathtaking mountain views and surrounded by nature at its wildest.
